Root Canal – A route to consider?

Rahul from Coimbatore; a charming young stud right out of college, is set out to see the whole new world, from his older student days. His days of anticipating the rush and the feel of the real world are finally over. He’s excited and ready to rock! He was the perfect guy with perfect hair, eyes, physique and of course, THE PERFECT SMILE. Soft drinks and street food are his jam anyway, anytime. Rahul seems to be living that dream life, smiling throughout, and enjoying each day. But there is something hidden behind that eye-catching, ever charming smile, that seems to be agonizing.

Is Rahul hiding something?

Rahul is a victim of Teeth Abscesses. Now, let’s have a clear idea about what Abscesses are about, and how they can be prevented, because, like in any other case, “PREVENTION IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN CURE”.

A tooth abscess is a pocket of pus that’s caused by a bacterial infection. The abscess can occur at different regions of the tooth for different reasons. A periapical abscess occurs at the tip of the root, whereas a periodontal abscess occurs in the gums at the side of a tooth root. The information here refers specifically to periapical abscesses.. In other words, it is a dental condition wherein the affected tooth is literally spoilt.

The common symptoms to Tooth Abscesses are,

  1. Severe, persistent, throbbing toothache.
  2. Sensitivity to hot and cold food.
  3. Swelling of face and cheek.
  4. Fever.
  5. Difficulty in breathing or swallowing.

What causes Teeth Abscess?

Penetration of bacteria through the cracks and pores of the teeth into the inner pulp, causes infection and inflammation of the pulp, forming pus. This infection causes Teeth Abscess and the above symptoms. Poor Dental Hygiene and excessive consumption of sugars are two of the biggest root causes to this agonizing condition.

But WHY O WHY is Rahul hiding this much of an agony? Is he shy about the fact that he’s had poor dental hygiene? Is it because Rahul won’t be able to eat his beloved ice cream anymore, once people get to know?

Rahul is scared of how this condition is treated. Dentistry and dental treatments are often physical and cannot always be treated through medicines. This particular condition is treated by a method called the Root Canal Treatment.

What is Root Canal? Why are people scared of it?

The procedure of root canal involves the treatment of removing the inflamed or infected pulp and cleaning of the disinfected tooth, then filling and sealing it with a rubber-like material called gutta-percha. Eventually the tooth is restored with a crown or filling for protection. One of the biggest misapprehensions about dentistry is that Root Canal is a painful and a very complicated process.

Rahul decided to get through this treatment, as he couldn’t take the agony any more. He reached out to Bellie Dental Clinic, one of the best dental clinic in Coimbatore. With the ever-developing technology and advancements in dentistry, he was assured that, this can be done in a patient friendly, simple and pain free way! ALL YOU’LL FEEL IS A SLIGHT PRICK. It can take one or two appointments to get this procedure done.

After the makeover, the tooth continues to function like a master. So now, Rahul can smile with nothing to hide! He can enjoy as much as ice cream as he wants, but Hey Hey Rahul, dental hygiene is a MUST!
